Brisbane Comedy Festival

Hi members!

The Brisbane Comedy Festival is going on and our very own Harith Iskander, Douglas Lim and Kuah Jenhan will be taking the stage for a night!  

• Event : Brisbane Comedy Festival (Best of Comedy-Malaysia)
• Date : 21st March 2012 (Wednesday)
• Place : Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm
• Time : 7.00 - 8.00 PM

HOW TO GET THERE?

Everyone please gather at the UQ CityCat Stop at 5.20 PM. And please BE PUNCTUAL. 

But if you want to go there by yourself, the details below might be helpful. Please be at the Brisbane Powerhouse by at least 6.30 PM as the show will start at 7.00 PM.

Brisbane Powerhouse is located next to New Farm Park on the banks of the Brisbane river. Street access is via 119 Lamington Street, New Farm (continuation of James St).

Please Note: There is limited car parking at Brisbane Powerhouse.  They encourage all patrons to catch public transport where possible.  If you are travelling by car, please allow ample time to locate a car park at either Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm Park or surrounding areas.

• BY BUS

• BY BICYCLE

Secure racks are available free-of-charge at Brisbane Powerhouse.

• BY TAXI

Taxi drop off is inside the Brisbane Powerhouse car park beside the Stores Building. A direct dial phone to Black and White cabs is located near the Box Office at Brisbane Powerhouse.

• BY CAR

There is convenient free parking available from 8.30am - midnight Monday to Friday and 6.30am - midnight Saturday and Sunday in New Farm Park (access via Brunswick St). Alternatively, there is limited free parking onsite (access via Lamington St, a continuation of James St).

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR TICKETS?

1) Ticket will be handed over to you on the day of the event.

2) If you are going there by yourself and want to collect the tickets earlier, please contact Izziara or Saachi.

AUG Brisbane will be having an education and migration fair at end of April/early May 2012. 
To make it a success, we will need as many enthusiastic and capable helpers as possible!

UQMSA Welcoming BBQ Sem 1, 2012

Hi,

Now that Market day is done and dusted its time to really kick off the semester with our Welcoming BBQ!

The event is free for all members,  we'll have a good old' Aussie Style BBQ going, we've also got some fun activities lined up to help you break the ice and meet new friends!

Time: 10am-1pm

Venue: BBQ Pits at Southbank Parklands

You can use the Translink to find your way to Southbank if you're not familiar about how to get there.

If you're feeling in a jolly sharing mood, you're more than welcoming to bring along some home cooked food!Share it around and you'll be the life of the party before long and be making heaps of new friends. The way into a Malaysians heart is through their stomach after all! :D

Membership Registration 

If you couldn't make it to Market Day and didn't get to sign up for membership, don't worry because we'll be having a registration counter so that you'll be able to sign up for the awesomeness that is UQMSA! 

Please note as membership is only valid for a year, returning members will need to renew their membership for the upcoming year. With our new membership card you can continue to enjoy discounts at an even larger number of sponsors and be entitled to member prices for UQMSA events.
