UQMSA achievements

To start of the year, we would like to congratulate the 2015/2016 UQMSA Committee member for a job well done through out their term leading this Association. In 2016, UQMSA manage to attain ourself in UQ Union Clubs and Societies 2016 Awards Night with the following, We were Finalist for Cultural Event of the Year- Mid Autumn Festival, Fundraising Event of the Year- Malaysia's Got Talent, President of the Year - Luvesh Sadhwani and Social Conveners of the Year- Ashley Abinash Anthony & Tiara Wong. A big congratulations to Kor Hong Wee for getting the 1st Runner Up for Secretary of the Year! And Finally, we were the WINNER for Publication Award - UQMSA's Survival Guide!!

In behalf of the 2016/2017 committee, we would like to congratulate the 2015/2016 UQMSA committee member once more for their hard work and sweat into this Association, and not to mention, A BIG THANK YOU to all our members that have been supporting us and the events we have came up for you guys, your presence has strongly inspired us fellow committee members to offer the best quality of service there is to the Malaysian Community here is Brisbane. We really can't thank you enough, may we UQMSA continue to provide the service we serve and improve along the way.

UQMSA Mamak Night Semester 2, 2016

Dear Members, 

UQMSA’s Mamak Night Semester 2 2016 

is finally here! Don’t miss out on the dates for ticket sales :D

This time, we're bringing in  NASI LEMAK , together with  AYAM MASAK MERAH  and sizzling hot  CHAR KUEY TEOW fried ON THE SPOT by Annie from Malaysia Nyonya House, our Diamond Sponsor!

UQMSA Annual General Meeting 2016 - Application for incoming committee team NOW OPEN!

Dear members,

The end of the semester approaches, and thus the time has come for the current UQMSA committee to be refreshed with a new bunch of successors.

If you
·      have a strong passion towards serving the Malaysian community in Brisbane;
·      are able and willing to commit your effort and time for the club throughout the new term; and
·      would like to gain more experience and broaden your social horizons,

We then highly encourage you to follow your heart and run as the club’s representatives for the 2016/2017 term! Details of UQMSA's Annual General Meeting 2016 are as follow for those who are keen:

Our sponsorship convener volunteer who was recruited in mid-August 2016 will be contending for 1 of the 2 spots, wherevoting will be open to members of the floor (a two-third majority votes will be necessary for official appointment to the position). Please note that applicants for the Executive Positions (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) will be called for an INTERVIEW with the current UQMSA executives. The tentative dates are 10th / 11th October 2016 (Monday / Tuesday) and will be informed shortly after applications close.

ALL MEMBERS are  highly encouraged to attend the AGM  as every vote counts to ensure that the new committee is selected by the members, as well as for the members. Do know that your vote has the power to determine how the club will be run next year.

Kindly note that only current UQMSA members are allowed to attend our AGM to ensure fair elections. We appreciate if you could bring along your membership card  with you during the AGM.

UQMSA's Confidence Workshop!

Dear member,

Are you ready to get confident? Do you want to make yourself presentable to the working world?

If so, join UQMSA's first ever 

CONFIDENCE WORKSHOP! 

This forms the 2nd component of Think Tank 2016 which aims to help boost your confidence to be ready to present your ideas at Think Tank's Finale! 

This event is open to ALL THINK TANK PARTICIPANTS  and  UQMSA MEMBERS  :D

Date:  3rd October 2016 (Monday, it’s a public holiday!) 

Time:  9.15am-1.00pm 

Venue:  ELCX, Hawken Engineering Building (50-C207) 

Dress Code:  Formal 

 *Lunch will be provided & is halal AFTER 1:30 PM
**There will be a tea break in between the workshop J

We will be having a few ACTIVITIES within this workshop:

1	Grooming Workshop (for Males) & Make-Up Tutorial (for Females)	Males: Get simple tips and hacks and how to improve your style, and how to dress accordingly and appropriately. Females: Get first-hand tutoring from our guest beauty make-up blogger. If you have ever felt overwhelm by the variety of makeup products, fret not because this tutorial will start from the BASICS. DISCLAIMER: Chemist Warehouse are having a 1/2 price sales on cosmetics. Sales period till 28 Sept 2016. For a great hands-on experience, participants should bring their own cosmetics, mirrors (for females) OR bowties/ties (for males) Female Participants: Please refer to attached “Word Document for a list of suggested makeup to get if you would like to have an idea on where to start!
2	Forum:  "Confidence: An inborn attribute, or one acquired through learning?"	Gain insight from our guest panels from different backgrounds on how to be confident in our lives
3	Presentation Workshop	Our guest speaker will be sharing with everyone the art of presenting your ideas to prospective investors DISCLAIMER: Participants should bring their own laptops (Think Tank teams only need to bring 1 laptop per team) *hint hint Think Tank Participants: This is good training for Stage 2 of Think Tank!

1. There will be a  GROUP PHOTOSHOOTING SESSION  after the workshop for Think Tank Participants. Please email to uniqmsa@gmail.com if your full team is unable to make the Photoshooting session.

2. It is  COMPULSORY  to have at least 2 out of 3 of your team members to be present in order to be  eligible for deposit .

3. Please  REGISTER  through the link provided to help us keep track of attendance :) 

4. There has been a change to the Terms & Conditions. As of 25^th September at 11:00 pm, Think Tank teams are NOT allowed to exchange team members with other Think Tank teams or non-Think Tank participants (students that registered after the registration deadline had closed)
