UQMSA's Mamak Nite

Dear members,

Mamak Nite is coming again. This year, we will have two Mamak Nites for each semester and the first one is just around the corner. This time around, we will have a new format for Mamak Nite. Instead of the tried and tested method of selling to whoever can arrive the fastest, we will be selling tickets to the event and ticket sales will be on a first come first served basis. Exotic Malaysian food will be served and this will be a members only event as our sign of appreciation towards all of you. Instead of writing long sentences, the summary of all the information is as follows:

Event: Mamak Nite
Date: 29 May 2009
Time: 5.30 (1730) - 8.00 (2000) PM
Place: Rooftop Terrace (BEL Faculty)
Menu: Mee Goreng, Beef Rendang, Chicken Curry, Steamed Rice and kuih-muih as desserts. We would also be serving Teh Tarik during the night..
Vegetarion Menu: Available (dhal and vegetarian suitable desserts)
Ticket Price: AUD 7.00 per person

This will be a Members-Only Event and Non-Members are advised to sign up as members to purchase the tickets.

Remember, ladies and gentlemen, tickets are very limited and we would advised our members to secure their places early. In our opinion, the price is very cheap, considering the types of food that you will get and the venue of the event (Rooftop Terrace).

Our ticket booth will be on these following days:

• 21st May (tomorrow)
• 26th May (TBC, subject to ticket availability)
  
• 27th May (TBC, subject to ticket availability)
• 28th May (TBC, subject to ticket availability)

Our booth is tentatively open from 12.00 - 2.00 PM and will be located near the Main Refec. 

We will also be selling Nasi Lemak tomorrow, and tentatively, on Wednesday next week. Please come early so that you all won't miss out on our famous Nasi Lemak.

Remember, Mamak Nite will be on the 29th and secure your tickets early at our booth tomorrow near the Main Refec from 12.00 - 2.00 PM. Nasi Lemak will also be on sale.

We will advise of any changes via e-mail in the future.

Gold Coast Trip Reminder

Dear members,

Just a reminder to all the Gold Coast Trip Participants tomorrow (11th April 09), please be at the Chancellor's Place, UQ by 8.15 am as the bus will leave at 8.30 am. Latecomers will not be tolerated.

Please also bring your sun protection equipments (sunscreen, sunnies and hats) as well as a bottle of water just to keep you hydrated as we will not provide any drinks. Another reminder is for you guys to bring your OSHC cards just in case anything happens on the day itself.

Lastly, you can refer to the itinerary for more info regarding the trip.

Gold Coast Trip 09

Hi all,

The itinerary for the Gold Coast trip is finalised and listed as follows:

0815(8.15 AM) – Gather at Chancellor’s Place UQ (UQ Bus Stop, near Student Centre)

 

 0830 (8.30 AM) – Leave UQ for Gold Coast

1045 (10.45 AM) – Arrive at Harbour Town, Helensvale (Shopping + Free Activity)

1245 (12.45 PM) – Leave Harbour Town for Surfers Paradise

1330 (1.30 PM) – Arrive at Surfers Paradise (Visit Main Places + Free Activity)

1515 (3.15 PM) – Begin Walk towards Q-Deck Observation Tower (Q1 Tower)

1530 (3.30 PM) – Reach Q-Deck

1630 (4.30 PM) – Leave Q-Deck for UQ

Please note that UQMSA will be operating on a strict schedule and we hope that you can be punctual and keep to the aforementioned schedule. 

Also, please be informed that we will not provide lunches during the day. Lunches can be purchased at Harbour Town or Surfers Paradise during our visit there. We will not wait for anyone who forgets to buy their lunch. We would also advise the participants to bring their own bottled water for the trip as we will not be providing any during the day.
