UQ Pre-departure Session in Malaysia

To all students who have received UQ offer letter or future students who are planning to study in UQ,

There is an information session in Malaysia and we would like to invite you to learn more about what UQ offers you and to prepare you for study in Australia, you and your family are invited to attend the following pre-departure sessions: 

Time    : 6.00pm arrival for 6:30pm start

Venue  : Theaterette, Main Block

              HELP University College

              BZ-2, Pusat Bandar Damansara

              50490 Malaysia.

If you are unable to attend the event in Kuala Lumpur, we will also be holding a session in Singapore on Monday 10th January 2011.

Hello People! Here’s an overdue update from UQMSA 2010!

As you all know, we had our AGM on the 12th of October. Everyone’s very eager to know who’s the next committee for year 2010/2011 right? I’m not going to reveal it to you until you get to the end of the post. Juuuusttt kiddinggg. No actually, I’m not kidding.

Anyways, THANK YOU guys for turning up for the AGM and exercised your rights to nominate and vote for your next UQMSA EXCO Members. Several valuable inputs were also given by members. Ribuan Terima Kasih for that!

Its been a very rewarding year for the committee of 2010. Seeing you guys enjoying the events we’ve organized and the thank-you-s from you guys was really what kept us going. So we will also like you guys to do the same for the next committee! UQMSA ROCKS YOUR SOCKS YO!

After AGM, we all headed to BEL Rooftop Terrace for the much awaited biggest event of the year, Mamak Night Sem 2! We had a list of delicious food lining up for the members as usual, and we were all so bloated after the night :)

Blog: UQMSA Laser Tag Social Game

Hello people! Hope the mid-semester break is treating you the way it should be treating you! A lot of you must have been catching up with work buuuttt, some of you surely had fun on the very first day of the break, last Saturday, we went Laser Tagging!

Was it fun? No words can possibly describe how fun it was! 6 teams of 8 members played round robin, meaning all teams get to play against each other!

After some briefing and making sure of the games’ mission, and some team cheering, the battle began!

We saw Team C and Team E marching into the battlefield at around 6pm. The first game was a close bloody fight and it was so significant coz it stroke a tinge of excitement for the following teams as it marks the beginning of the competition!

For the rest of the night, we saw team building, team bonding, team spirit, inter-team competition, more team cheering, team laughing, team eating, team meeting (to figure out strategies), team spying, team chatting, team chilling, team fighting and… …

After completing all 15 rounds of games, we reached the climax of the night. It was time to declare the winner of the night… NOT. We still had some time and guess what, ALL 6 TEAMS INVADED THE BATTLEFIELD AND FOUGHT AGAINST EACH OTHER! Now how’s that? We had 2 extra games where all 6 teams, all 48 of us, went into the battlefield and each team had to face off 5 other teams!

This was probably the most exciting part for most of us. There were screaming, lots of running and hiding and also, teams roaring at each other while shooting each other down! :D

We certainly had lots of fun!

Now aren’t you excited to know which team won the game? Is it Team A which was led by Michael? Or the happy Team B with pretty S.H.E.? Or naughty Team C? Or Team D with only 2 girls? Or Team E who wore the most red colour? Or Team F led by the almighty UQMSA President? The glorious victory of the night goes to… … Team…… … … … … …

come to AGM and Mamak Night and ask around. maybe we’ll let you know then.

UQMSA Mid Autumn Fetival Movie Night

It's time-out now that the mid-sem break is on its way! UQMSA will be screening a great Chinese movie by the name of 'Ip Man' and having mooncakes and Chinese tea to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival! :) The movie will have English subtitles so come along and join the fun!
