Blog: Welcoming BBQ 2010 Sem 1

Two Saturdays ago on the 6th March 2010, UQMSA held its Semester 1 Welcoming BBQ at the Roma Street Parklands! It drizzled throughout the day but nonetheless, we had a wonderful turnout as we fired up (or rather, turned on) two electric BBQ pits and cooked about 290 sausages. For once in a long, long period of time, the committee managed to accurately forecast the amount of food and drinks for everyone, yay! We had amazing volunteers who helped out enormously so thank you to all!

The Happy People :D

Besides that, we also opened up registration for two of our next events: the Learn to Surf event, which is happening on 27th March with Joel (Social Convener) taking the helm, and the resume-writing workshop that has been co-organised by our Education Conveners, Alexa and Min Li, with Celia Yeo, the BEL Faculty’s Employment Services Manager, and is due to take place on the 15th of April (Thursday). Thus far, registration is still open so do register your interests with us by emailing uniqmsa@gmail.com!

As one of our very first event for the year, the Welcoming BBQ has been very successful thanks to you! So don't forget to join us in our future activities! Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Warmest Regards,
UQMSA Committee
