President  Joel Kok	Hi everyone! I'm currently entering the final year of my Bachelor of Engineering  (Mech) program here at UQ. I am also a Penang kia, so if anyone wants to have a coffee with me to reminiscence about Penang Laksa or Char Koay Teow, you're more than welcome :) It has been a truly wonderful experience meeting new friends and being able to serve fellow Malaysians for the past year through UQMSA, and all I can say is that its a privilege to be part of this great committee for the second year in a row. We sincerely hope to give our fellow Malaysians fun and beneficial activities for the year to come, to contribute to the welfare of our fellow Malaysians, and to do our part in promoting Malaysian culture to our UQ community. We hope to see you around!
Vice President Rahmat Shazi	Assalamulaikum and greetings to all. I'm Rahmat Shazi. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Business focusing on Social Networks research. Prior to this, I was a Mechanical Engineering lecturer specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics. I like sports, especially long distance running, badminton and rugby. I have studied in the UK and the US, and Australia is a new destination. I hope to bring my experience to bear here in UQMSA, especially a different perspective. Treasurer Jia Huay Ng	Hi peeps! My name is Jia Huay, am currently in my 3rd year (Year 2011) of Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting & Finance. LOVE food ( I'm from Ipoh, that pretty much explains why I love food, haha!). LOVE watching horror/thriller movies to scare myself (weird much huh!) ENJOY dancing. ENJOY travelling, especially to beaches. That's basically me. I'll like to meet new people so don't be afraid to just approach me if u see me in uni or if u need anything that I can help u with. Social Convener Jiansheng Teh	Greetings nossypeoplethatwanttoknowmoreaboutme, the name is Jiansheng and I'm from a little town called Sandakan in East Malaysia. I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor of Commerce in UQ and enjoying my life in Brisbane which did I mention, is pretty awesome. I like to say that I'm nice and helpful but that's really up to you guys to perceive. I've got tons of interest, I enjoy working out at the gym, chilling out around the lake in UQ, and most of all playing a game of paintball with my friends ( ah... the moment when you the shot you made hit the target's head is just amazing) or when all fails, lazer tag, but that's really just a coward's game. Sorry Barney Stinson hehe. I've just recently joined the UQMSA committee as a Social Convener, what is a Social Convener Jiansheng you say? Well Ask.com says that I'm "responsible for gathering people around a social cause in an effort to address that cause." Unofficially I'm the first person that you'll comes in contact, if you ever need anything from UQMSA. I hope that your stay in UQ will be an amazing experience and I'll see you guys soon.
Social Convener Jiun Tsuen Low	Hi people!!! My name is JIUN. I am currently pursuing PhD in biomedical science, mainly focus in the control of insulin secretion (diabetic related stuffs). I am a friendly person and enjoying chatting with others. So, don’t hesitate to say Hi to me when you bump into me on the street. I will be more than happy to engage some random, nonsensical conversations with you. Anyway, for those who just join UQMSA, I hope you guys enjoy the warm welcome from UQMSA committees. We will give our best to help you settle in Brisbane. For the returning members, thanks for all the supports and hope you guys continue joining the upcoming activities.
IT Convener Peh Hwa	Hellooooo, PehHwa here. Currently I am studying Yr 3 Bachelor of Commerce. I can't live without yummy food and wonderful friendly friends. Furthermore, backpacking, mountain climbing and photographing have become part of my life. If you happen to see me hiding behind the camera, don't forget to say Hi. I don't bite :D
Education Convener Saachi Asok Kumar	Hello everybody! =) I’ve only been in Brisbane for about 6 months but I’m enjoying it here. Now if only they have mamaks, life would be complete! I’m an avid follower of football and I love playing futsal so if anyone ever wants to play, just give me a call! I’m also into all sorts of tech stuff. Tech toys are just so cool =D. Overall I’m a pretty laid back, sociable person so if you see me around just say HI! I’m more than happy to help all my fellow Malaysian with settling down over here. Education Convener Jessica Wong	Hiii! If there is one word I’d tattoo on me it’ll be Exuberance. If there is one quote that makes most of my decisions it’ll be ‘What’s the worst that could happen’. If there is one question I’d randomly ask u & i on a train to somewhere, it’ll be ‘What’s the one thing you would dare to dream if you knew you wouldn’t fail?’ I perceive education as an ongoing process. I believe in the sayings – no pain no gain; no deposit, no return :) People who know me call me Jess instead of Jessica, because they know I much prefer that. So please call me Jess! :) Random Jess Fact 1: Too much cheese & sugar in my system makes me dizzy (: Random Jess Fact 2: That picture of me is taken with the oldest cow! hee hee.
