Learn to Surf, Sem 1 2011

Salam sejahtera and hi everyone :)

After a very successful Welcoming BBQ to kick off our semester, it's the time of the year for our "Learn to Surf" event before the weather gets too cold :) 

Date    : 26/3/2011 (Saturday)
Venue : Currumbin Beach + Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
Time   : 8.00 a.m gather at UQ Chancellor Place Bus Stop, St Lucia

Itinerary:

08.00am Gather at UQ meeting point
08.15am Leave UQ
10.00am Arrive at Currumbin
10.30am Lessons begin
12.00pm End of lessons
12.30pm End of lessons
12.45pm Arrive at Surfers Paradise
01.00pm Lunch + Jalan-jalan
03.00pm Leave for UQ
05.00pm Adventure ends
 
Members Price (Includes transport)

Surfers - $45 (must have basic knowledge of swimming for safety purpose)

Non-surfers- $22

Currumbin Alley’s sheltered layout makes it less exposed and open to the prevailing Southerly winds, creating both perfect Learn to Surf conditions and challenging long rides for the experienced surfer.

A wet suit and surfboard will be provided by the surf school. Learn to Surf lessons include instruction in paddling, wave catching, various prone to feet methods, surfboard design and Surf Safety.

PS: Non-surfers will get to laze around the beach and play some games while surfers try to 'Hang ten" :D

Venue: Booth at UQ Union (beside STA Travels)

Be quick! We have only 30 spots for surfers and 18 for non-surfers. Registration is on first-comes-first basis and will ****ONLY**** be happening at the booth for consistency reasons.
