This is an annual event organized by UQ Union in collaboration with all UQ International Societies including UQMSA. There will be over 20 booths featuring the unique cultures of various countries for you to visit. You will also be able to taste different cuisines at the booths on the very day, either for a fee or for FREE!
Date: 6th of May 2014 (Tuesday)
Time: 10am – 2pm
Place: UQ Campbell Place (around UQ Union)

Wanna have a sneak peek of what UQMSA is going to present to you on Cultural Fiesta?

First and foremost, how could we have missed out FOOD which is such a remarkable identity of Malaysia? We will be selling NASI LEMAK AYAM and PULUT KUNING WITH RENDANG DAGING at $5 each. There will also be FREE kuih for you to sample! Do come and ease your craving for Malaysian food!

There will be an INFORMATION CORNER displaying brief introduction on Malaysia and also some common phrases of Bahasa Melayu. To our Malaysian members who are currently or have been homesick, do drop by at our booth which will certainly offer you a sense of being home! Who knows, you might also get a chance of being a little “ambassador” of Malaysia by introducing Malaysia to our foreign visitors as well as teaching them our Bahasa Malaysia!

Nostalgic of the TRADITIONAL GAMES back in your hometown? Let’s come and play congkak and jentik penutup botol (bottle cap game) at our booth! Don’t really have idea on how to play? Fear not! We will be there teaching you and ensuring you having fun all the way.

Taking pictures is the best way to freeze the time and render the memory etched in your mind. Therefore we are having a PHOTOBOOTH of POLAROID PICTURES to let you have a nice memory of Cultural Fiesta. There will be nicely decorated background and a variety of props available for you to take pictures with. Only $1.50 per picture!

We are also having 2 PERFORMANCES on stage from 12 NOON to 12.30PM. The performances will start off with a FASHION SHOW of Malaysian traditional costumes, followed by MARTIAL ARTS performance (SILAT) from Malaysian students. Do drop by and give a loud cheer and applause to our performers!

Sounds fun and interesting aye? Let’s come and join us for the fun together with other International clubs! See you there!
