2015 Semester 1 Mamak Night‏

Dear member,
Had a grueling semester burying your nose in assignments and lecture notes? Why not take a night off and pamper yourself with some good food at our 2015 Semester 1 Mamak Night? We're back this time BIGGER and BETTER,with a NEW VENUE!


Date:  27th May 2015 (Wednesday)
Time:  7:30PM to 10PM
Venue:  UQ Holt Room (opposite to UQ Pizza Caffe)
If you missed out our Nasi Lemak at Cultural Fiesta, no worries as we are bringing in Nasi Lemak with Ayam Berempah for you at our Mamak Night, together with Rojak Pasembur and Mee Goreng Mamak. Still find it not mamak enough? Fret not as we will be having on-site Roti Canai specialists from Dapur Dahlia preparing freshly made Roti Canai served with dahl for you!
Looking for something sweet after the heavy meal? We have dadih as your pencuci mulut (dessert) as well, and of course not forgetting Teh Tarik for the true Mamak style! If you are a vegetariandon’t worry as our Rojak Pasembur,Mee Goreng Mamak and Roti Canai are purely vegetarian. Just give our committee a shout during the event and we will serve you accordingly. J

The Merriment Movement


Hi again,
Australian Red Cross is organizing “The Merriment Movement” in conllaboration with UQ Union and UQ Advantage Office to assist you in managing your stress and having fun amidst your tight schedules. 

The Merriment Movement is a 
four-day event (12th of May, Tuesday - 15th of May, Friday) including seminars and activities which you can attend for just a gold coin donation, such as 'Managing Exam Stress', 'Anxiety and Depression', 'PTSD and Journalism', 'Fitness and Happiness', 'Body Image', 'Student Wellbeing', and many more! Proceeds will go to the Australian Red Cross to support their work in various disaster relief efforts.

On the 12th of May (Tuesday)there will be a Carnival Fun Fair at UQ Campbell Place (in front of UQ Union Lolly Shop) from 10AM to 2PM, where you have a chance to play a variety of games for free and walk away prizesUQMSA will be having a game booth too! Curious of what we will be doing? Come and check us out, and support the event for a good cause!

On the last day (15th of May, Friday), there will be a Wrap-up Party at Heath Room from 6:30 to 9PM. Tickets are $10 each, inclusive of refreshments and food. UQU Cultural Fiesta‏

Dear member,
UQU Cultural Fiesta is here again!
This is an annual event organized by UQ Union in collaboration with all UQ International Societies including UQMSA. There will be over 30 booths featuring the unique cultures of various countries for you to visit. Apart from being able to try out different cuisines and varioustraditional games on the very day, this time around you will also have a chance to watch NATIVE REPTILES AND ANIMALS presented by Geckoes Wildlife Presentations!
Date: 5th of May 2015 (Tuesday)

Place: UQ University Drive (the grassy area behind Forgan Smith Building, adjacent to Art Museum)
