UQU Cultural Fiesta‏

UQU Cultural Fiesta is here again!

This is an annual event organized by UQ Union in collaboration with all UQ International Societies including UQMSA. There will be over 30 booths featuring the unique cultures of various countries for you to visit. Apart from being able to try out different cuisines and varioustraditional games on the very day, this time around you will also have a chance to watch NATIVE REPTILES AND ANIMALS presented by Geckoes Wildlife Presentations!

Date: 5th of May 2015 (Tuesday)

Time: 10am – 2pm

Place: UQ University Drive (the grassy area behind Forgan Smith Building, adjacent to Art Museum)

Wanna have a sneak peek of what UQMSA is going to present to you on Cultural Fiesta? 

First and foremost, how could we have missed out FOOD which is such a remarkable identity of Malaysia? We will be selling NASI LEMAK AYAM and NASI KERABU ! If you missed out our previous Makan Nights, here’s the chance for you to relish these authentic Malaysian dishes! This is also the time for you to introduce the Malaysian cuisine to your non-Malaysian friends if you have been mentioning to them about the heavenly taste of our food. ;)

 

Seeking something light but with a “taste of Malaysia”? We will also be selling different types of kuih - CURRY PUFF, KUIH SERI MUKA and KEK BATIK. We are pretty sure that one is never enough, so there will be a special COMBO price if you buy more!  Do check us out and fix your craving for Malaysian food together with your peeps! Limited quantity available so be QUICK before they run out. J

 

Nostalgic of the TRADITIONAL GAMES back in your hometown? Let’s come and play congkak, sepak takraw, batu Seremban (five stones game), coconut bowling and lompat getah at our booth! Don’t really have idea on how to play? Fret not! We will be there teaching you and ensuring you have fun all the way.

 

We are also having a PERFORMANCE on stage from 11.45AM to 12.10PM. The performance will be a FASHION SHOW of Malaysian traditional costumes from Malaysian students. Do drop by and give a loud cheer and applause to our performers!
